It's almost that time of year -- BACK TO SCHOOL! Mr. K and I are SO EXCITED about the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. We have so many fantastic things planned to challenge and inspire our Eagles in both the Physical Education Gym and the Health Classroom. Our plans include new technology activities that will teach our students how to track and monitor their fitness, movement, and their goals, as well as teaching the latest information in self-care and self-esteem boosting programs.
Just a reminder as you finish up your Back-to-School shopping, that it is part of our Physical Education policy that ALL students wear tennis/gym shoes while in our class; students may not participate in P.E. class if they are not wearing gym shoes. This doesn't only enhance the level of safety in the gym for the student, but also teaches them about appropriate footwear for active engagement. We understand that this does get tricky in the winter time with boots and safe coverage of feet. We urge you to support a habit of responsibility with your child/family member! Students are welcome to bring a pair of gym shoes (labeled with their name) to remain in my office. I'm happy to hold on to them if it means that they won't forget them at home, and are allowed to participate in P.E. class.
Just one more thing before you go! Mr. K and I are health and wellness enthusiasts, and only ever want for our students to be happy and healthy. We give ourselves a break when we're sick; Mr. K and I are equally as sensitive to our students and their energy/healing needs. PLEASE feel free to e-mail me with any concerns, such as your child/family member has a cold, the sniffles, a cough, etc. While I do have activities available for students not able to participate in P.E. due to sickness, I love getting more of a heads up so that I can personalize a lesson for the student.
Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com if you have any comments, questions, or concerns regarding these policies, or what we'll be covering in P.E. and Health this year at Brighton Park Elementary School! GO EAGLES!
